Aquino still reading report on Taiwanese killing by PCG

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - President Benigno S. Aquino III said today that he has yet to finish reading the report of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on the killing of Taiwanese fisherman by Filipino coast guards early last month.

Aquino, in an interview, said that the NBI report was three inches thick.

"I have yet to finish reading the three-inch report," he said, noting that aside from the NBI report on the May 9 incident, he is also studying other reports and matters that have crossed his desk.

The NBI and the Taiwanese authorities conducted parallel probes into the shooting incident involving the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel in a sea area located 160 nautical miles southeast of Taiwan resulting to the death of a 65-year old Taiwanese fisherman.
