EnPress honors best in Philippine film at 9th Golden Screen Awards

MANILA, Philippines - The Entertainment Press Society Inc. (EnPress) revealed recently the winners of the 9th Golden Screen Awards at the Teatrino Greenhills.

Leading the way are recent 6th Asian Film Awards winners Eugene Domingo as Best Actress in a Leading Role-Musical or Comedy for "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" and Shamaine Buencamino as Best Supporting Actress in a Supporting Role-Musical or Comedy for "Niño".

This year's Lino Brocka Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Nora Aunor.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role-Drama: Jean Garcia for “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”

Breakthrough Performance by an Actor: Rocco Nacino for “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role-Drama, Musical or Comedy: Art Acuña for “Niño”

Best Motion Picture-Drama: “Niño”

Lino Brocka Lifetime Achievement Award: Nora Aunor

Best Visual/Special Effects: Frano Garcia, Rico Tecson, Rico Fernandez, Jerome Marco, Alexis Leobrera for “Pintakasi”

Best Musical Score: Vincent de Jesus for “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank”

Best Original Song: “Sa Muling Pagtatagpo" from the movie “Ligo Na U Lapit Na Me”; music, lyrics by Jude Gitamondoc and interpreted by Daryl Leong

Best Production Design: Fritz Silorio, Mona Soriano, Ronaldo Cadapan for “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story”

Best Editing: Ike Veneracion for “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank”

Best Cinematographer: Carlo Mendoza for “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story”

Best Sound: Albert Michael Idioma for “The Road”

Best Story: Kristoffer Brugada for “Patikul”
