A 24/7 soap opera channel for Pinoys

-

MANILA, Philippines - Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc., always championing the Filipino talent, whether it’s the local musical talent as expressed in its successful concerts or its independent films, it’s evident that the nationalistic and patriotic pride had been its No. 1 contribution to the industry.

It is with this scenario in mind that Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc. is now championing the cause of Filipino theater and voice talents by charting the telenovela territory. It is also known as OPM advocate and champion of Filipino artists that brought to the public The Last Valentines nAPO nila, the Ryan Cayabyab-Ogie Alcasid tandem OC at the PICC, the Jose Mari Chan-The CompanY team-up It’s Complicated and the multi-awarded martial law movie saga Sigwa among others.

The company has been involved in dubbing telenovelas since 2005 and some of the programs include Secreto de Amor, Mi Pecado, Tormenta En Al Paraiso and Rebecca, all translated from Spanish to English.

Envisioned by Antonio Flores, CEO of Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc., the Telenovela Channel is acknowledged as the first 24/7 soap opera channel in Asia to be launched in September in the Philippines. The endeavor is made possible by Beginnings at Twenty Plus together with Televisa Internacional.

Mario Castro, Televisa’s director of New Business for Asia, graced the formal launching of the Telenovela Channel held at Burgoo Resto in Quezon City. Castro has been impressed with Beginnings at Twenty Plus’ commitment and dedication in doing voice dubbing through the years in different languages and this Telenovela Channel is no exception.

Televisa Internacional is the largest media provider of Spanish programming in the world. Dubbed in Filipino, the Telenovela Channel is intended for Filipinos here and OFWs abroad. According to Pelita Peralta Uy, Telenovela channel managing director, the channel will showcase the inimitable skills of Filipino voice talent stalwarts — some of which are the crème de la crème of Philippine theater, film, TV and radio who have elevated language dubbing into an esteemed and high-precision art.

The 24/7 channel will feature an eclectic mix that is bound to entertain audiences of all ages — from the timeless love stories that span generations, both contemporary and epic in scope, suspense thrillers, youth-oriented melodramas and children’s adventure stories — all proven to be blockbuster hits where they were first shown in their country of origin and even in other countries.

Some of the upcoming titles in the channel include Pasion (Passion), En Nombre de Amor (In the Name of Love), Verano de Amor (Summer of Love) and Las dos Caras de Ana (The Two Faces of Ana).
