Sofia Andres criticized for reposting fake news

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya teen actress Sofia Andres is under fire after she posted on her Twitter account a screenshot of an alleged “fake news” that Hailey Baldwin is three months pregnant and Justin Bieber is to become a father.

In the website of FlurryFeed that Sofia reposted, it was reported that Hailey is three months pregnant and the couple decided to conceal the pregnancy and wanted to announce it after the engagement news broke.

But a hoax-busting website, Hoax Alert, tagged the article as “fake news.”

“Is Justin Bieber going to be a father and has his (fiancée) Hailey Baldwin been confirmed to be three months into a pregnancy? No, that's not true: the story was made up by a ‘fauxtire’ website and it is not real,” Hoax Alert said in the article.

Netizens commented on Sofia’s post and alerted the actress about the fake news.

“Only this site claims she’s pregnant and it’s not a credible one it’s not even known + you can check hailey’s body in her recent pics + she drinks alcohol + they’ve only been together for a month and no it’s not with shawn either they were just friends,” netizen @highsjustin said.

Netizen @RehanaTsunokake commented on Sofia that the article is obviously fake news and she encouraged the actress to check the source first before posting.
