Manila to host South Korea’s Golden Disc Awards
MANILA, Philippines — The Golden Disc Awards, one of South Korea’s most prestigious music awards, will be staged on Philippine soil for the first time.
All Access Productions and HM Entertainment announced that the 32nd GDA would be held on January 10 and 11, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
This will be the fourth time that GDA will be held outside of South Korea.
About 24 to 28 K-pop stars who promoted or debuted in 2017 are expected to fly to Manila to grace the awards show. The organizers, however, did not announce which acts would attend GDA.
The first day of the awards show would highlight the nominees and winners in the physical sale categories, while the second day is for digital sales.
During the 31st GDA held last January, EXO won the Disc Daesang or Album of the Year, Twice bagged Digital Daesang or the Song of the Year and BTS received the Global K-pop Artist Award.
Beginning in 1986, GDA has been dubbed as the “Korean Grammy Awards.”
The ticket prices (excluding ticket charges) are as follows:
- Golden Ticket – P25,000
- SVIP – P12,000
- VIP – P10,000
- Lower box – P8,000
- Upper box – P5,000
- General Admission – P2,500
Those who will avail of the Golden Ticket will have access to both days of GDA.
A ticket pre-selling event will be held on November 26 at Eastwood City Mall.
