Robi Domingo on seeing Gretchen Ho at Star Magic Ball

MANILA, Philippines — On September 27, days before Star Magic Ball, Robi Domingo turned 28 without a sight, not even a greeting, from ex girlfriend Gretchen Ho.

“It was so lonely,” the TV host recalled, who got used to Gretchen surprising him with a cake every time he turns a year older.

Also on the red carpet, Robi has gotten used to him and Gretchen walking side by side and holding hands. So, after three years of doing so, walking on the red carpet alone this year feels “very different,” Robi told Philstar.com.

He also admitted that the "athleisure"-themed suit designer Joey Samson tailor-made for him reminds him of his athlete ex.

Though he and Gretchen have been seeing each other in events, he confessed that he still could not face her on the red carpet. Gretchen was at the red carpet’s second stop, interviewing celebrities before they go to the third stop, the external press room, before they proceed to the ballroom.

But Robi did not anymore pass by the second stop, where Gretchen was, and went straightway to the press room.

He told the media that at 28, he does feel the urge to marry and start a family, as some of his friends do.

When asked if he is seeing anyone, he narrated: “You know, my friends have set me up with so many dates. Guess how many out of 10 did I go to? None!”

“Is it because you still love Gretchen?” this writer asked him.

“Maybe,” Robi divulged.

“Would you talk to her later in the ballroom?” this writer asked again.

“I don’t know,” Robi shyly said.

 “What can you say about the way she looks tonight?”

“Stunning and beautiful as always!” Robi sighed before entering the ballroom, his voice a bit sad but at the same time, with a hint of hope that maybe next year he would walk the red carpet again alongside that one his heart truly desires.
