Spanish cop robbed in Manila

MANILA, Philippines –  A Spanish police officer vacationing in the country lost his money and gadgets while billeted at a hotel in Malate, Manila over the weekend.

Borja Carriera Rouco, 30, told police investigators that he was robbed of nearly 1,000 euros and mobile phones while he was sleeping in his room at the Pink Manila Hostel between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Rouco said he forgot to lock his room.

He filed a complaint against the hotel management.

Rouco said he would not return to the Philippines again.
