Gabby’s daughter Cloie is 2016 Miss Earth-Sweden

MANILA, Philippines – Cloie Syquia Skarne (left), 22, was named 2016 Miss Earth-Sweden, one of the four title-holders during the 2016 Miss Sweden grand coronation night in Stockholm.

Cloie succeeded 2015 Miss Earth Sweden Maria Sofia Aune Johanna Taipaleenmaki (right, crowning Cloie) and earned the right to represent the Scandinavian nation in the 2016 Miss Earth set to be staged here on Oct. 29 (venue to be advised soon). Sixty delegates have so far confirmed participation including our very own Imelda Schweighart. Fifteen more countries are expected to compete after they crown their respective delegates between Sept. 1 and Oct 1.

Cloie is Gabby Concepcion’s daughter with former actress and ex-wife Jenny Syquia. She’s using her stepfather’s surname, Filip Skarne whom Jenny married in 1997. She’s the half-sister of KC Concepcion and Garie Concepcion, Gabby’s daughters with Sharon Cuneta and Grace Ibuna, respectively.

The coveted 2016 Miss Universe Sweden crown went to Ida Ovmar, 20 from Luleå. She’s the reigning 2016 Miss Continents and competed in the 2014 Miss Supranational in Poland where she’s one of the Top 20 (along with Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Yvethe Marie Santiago) and Best Body; and a contestant of 2014 Miss Exclusive held in Belgium. Ida will travel to the Philippines for the 2016 Miss Universe pageant where she will compete with Miss Universe Philippines Maria Mika Maxine Medina and 80 other beauties at the Mall Of Asia (MOA) Arena on Jan. 30, 2017.
