Lilia Cuntapay dies at 81
MANILA, Philippines – Actress Lilia Cuntapay, dubbed as “Horror Queen” of the Philippine film industry died on Saturday morning. She was 81.
Earlier in August, Cuntapay appealed for help from her colleagues in the industry, seeking medical assistance.
Relatives of the actress said she suffered from a spinal cord illness.
Cuntapay, who has spent decades in obscurity as an extra in horror movies, was known for her debut role in the horror film series “Shake Rattle and Roll 3.”
She won the Best Actress Award for her first lead role in Antoinette Jadaone’s “Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay” at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival in 2011.
