Donita Rose on separation with husband: It’s very devastating
MANILA, Philippines – Donita Rose breaks her silence about the reports that she is separated from her husband Eric Villarama.
On Tuesday’s episode of podcast program “Good Times with Mo,” Donita speaks up about her marriage after a caller asked her about an Instagram post of her husband with another woman.
The former MTV VJ admitted that it was true and she knew about it after her guesting in the same show, which was a few days ago.
“A lot of people have been asking and I'll talk about it when I'm ready,” she replied to the caller. “But for the time being, I've just been advised to not say anything about it until something specifically happens. So I'm just waiting and I promise to let you know when I'm ready."
She denied that it was their long distance relationship that ended their 14 years of being together. Donita said their relationship has been on the rocks until they finally decided to part ways two years ago.
“Now I guess he made it official when the other day, I found out that he came out with a post of...I guess his profile picture is with the girl,” she said about her separation with Villarama. “We did talk about it, we talked about it the other day and he apologized to me.”
Donita said she’s not ready to go into the details on what happened to their marriage because she’s in the process of healing.
“I will say it's not just very painful but it's a very devastating thing to go through,” she confessed. “Now I'm in a position where I'm just now starting to I would say heal. So I can't say anything without like me breaking down o something. So that's why I'm not exactly ready yet to say anything."
“When the time comes that I'm much better, I'll be more than willing to share my story with other people,” she added.
While talking about the separation, Donita has been holding her tears. However, when her son’s situation was brought up, she started to get emotional.
“It's tough when there's a kid involved,” she admitted. “There have been a lot of times where I ask myself, 'why me?' I felt that I have done everything that I could, why does it still have to happen to me, and most especially this is the hardest part when you have kids. In this case my son.”
On a lighter note, Donita said is she proud of her son whom she said has “matured a lot through this.”
For now, she takes comfort of knowing that God has better plans for her and she’s able to build her relationship again with her family.
“For the longest time it has been the three of us,” she said referring to herself, her son and estranged husband. “But this time around, it's me reconnecting with the rest of my family and it has been really good. I think I'm doing a lot better now.”
Despite all the pain she’s going through at the moment, Donita chose to remain positive.
“My heart has been smashed into a million pieces, good thing though I like jigsaw puzzles. I'm okay to put it together again,” she concluded.
