Vina Morales stresses legal battle is for daughter's welfare

MANILA, Philippines - Vina Morales reiterated that her legal battle against Cedric Lee is for the welfare of her daughter.

Last week, the Kapamilya singer-actress filed a motion to suspend the visitation rights of Cedric Lee to their daughter, who allegedly detained the child in his home for nine days.

In return, Lee's camp plans to file libel cases against Vina, after her "damaging" statements against him.

"'Wag natin ilihis," she said about Lee's planned libel case against her, push.com.ph reported. "Honestly this is not about me and Cedric, e. This is about my child’s welfare."

Vina also pointed out that the court agrees with her that Lee's camp doesn't have supporting documents with his claim that he has ten-day visiting rights to his daughter.

"Hindi ko gawa-gawa ito that he never issued a copy granting him visitation agreement for ten days," she said. "Walang binigay na gano'n sa kanila. That is why they are cited in contempt of court violating the visitation agreement."

Amidst all of this, Vina clarified that she didn't plan to malign anyone. All she wanted to do now is to protect her daughter, whom she said was "stressed" by the incident.

"Wala akong balak na siraan siya. Ang sa akin lang ang nararamdaman ko at tungkol sa anak ko," she said.

"Wala naman akong sinisiraan dito," she concluded. – Joyce Jimenez
