Wenn Deramas dies of cardiac arrest

MANILA, Philippines — Box-office movie director Wenn Deramas died early Monday due to cardiac arrest, according to a report.
According to Deramas' friend June Rufino, the 49-year old director was rushed to Capital Medical Center at 2 a.m.
In an interview with ANC, Rufino said that Deramas died at around 6:10 a.m. His remains will be brought to the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.
Deramas is known for successful television drama series "Mula Sa Puso" in the 1990s, "Saan Ka??Man Naroroon" which ran from 1999 to 2001 and sa "Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan" from 2001 to 2003. He also directed critically acclaimed films and box office hits such as "Ang Tanging Ina" (2003) and "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin" (2011). — Patricia Lourdes Viray
