Yeng Constantino says not all Christians agree with Manny Pacquiao

Joyce Jimenez - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Yeng Constantino apologized to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual (LGBT) community who was hurt by Manny Pacquiao’s statement.

Pacquiao’s statement regarding same sex marriage elicited negative reaction from the LGBT community after he compared homosexuality to animals.

In an interview, he was quoted saying: “Common sense lang, makakakita ka ban g any animals na lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae?

The boxer, a senatorial aspirant in the upcoming presidential elections, is a self-confessed born again Christian.

The Kapamilya singer didn’t plan to give her reaction regarding the issue, but got irate with a tweet that was encouraging her to “take a stand against homosexuality bilang Kristiyano.”

“Sa totoo lang po, hindi ako natuwa. Nagalit ako. Pakatotoo lang po ako ha, nagalit po ako,” she said, pointing out that she has a brother who is gay.

“Mahal po namin kayo,” she said, addressing the LGBT community. “Huwag n’yong hayaan i-define kayo ng sinasabing condemnation ng mga tao about you. God believes in you, and God loves you.”
