Maine Mendoza on MMFF acting award: Why me?
MANILA, Philippines – Maine Mendoza is already expecting to get bashed for her latest achievement.
The “Eat Bulaga” mainstay won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal at the Kia Theater in Quezon City on Monday.

She won the award for her role in the romantic-comedy “My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore” which also stars Alden Richards, Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas.
Maine, who is currently in Japan on vacation and was not able to attend the awards night, took to Twitter hours after winning the acting honor from the MMFF.
“Bago pa ako ibash ng sambayanan, mauuna na ako.. Bakit ako?” she said in a tweet on Monday.
She added, “Pero maraming salamat po! Magandang umaga sa lahat!”

“My Bebe Love” is Maine’s first movie, and the Best Supporting Actress award her first acting recognition.

Alden, Maine’s onscreen partner, was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category; the award, however, went to Tirso Cruz III of “Honor Thy Father.”
“My Bebe Love” also won the Third Best Picture award and the Gatpuno J. Villegas Cultural Award.
