Shaina Magdayao opens up about working with John Lloyd

MANILA, Philippines – There was no awkward moment between Shaina Magdayao and ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz when they worked together for the primetime series “Nathaniel.”

John Lloyd portrayed a short but essential role in the TV series.

“Wala kaming problema sa isa’t isa,” said Shaina in an interview for “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” aired on Tuesday. “I think kasi bago lang sa mata ng tao na nakikita kami onscreen. Maski naman ako, parang hindi ko nakita ‘yon na mangyayari, na magkakatrabaho kami.”

She added that this was not the first time they’ve seen each other, and that they’ve already settled their issues three years after they broke up.

“Ilang taon na ang nakalipas, ilang Star Magic Ball na ang nakalipas,” she said, laughing. “We see each other naman around, we have common friends. We’re okay.”

Aside from “Nathaniel,” Shaina is also working on the first Cinema One TV series “Single, Single” where she’s paired with Matteo Guidicelli.

She’ll play the role of a single mom dealing with her hang-ups.

“‘Yon ang maganda sa series na ito kasi maraming makaka-relate,” she said about the series. “This is about mga quarter-life concerns, quarter-life crisis. So in general when it comes to love life, when it comes to family, when it comes to money.”

“Single, Single” will air for thirteen weeks starting on August 29, 8 p.m. on Cinema One.
