MANILA, Philippines - Robin Padilla and Vina Morales show they still have what it takes to give younger love teams a run for their money during the Bonifacio Day celebration in Caloocan City on Sunday.
The former lovers led a whole-day program that commemorated the birth of Andres Bonifacio. It also served to promote the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo,” which stars Robin and Vina.
In an interview with Philstar.com and other members of the press at the sidelines of the Bonifacio Day event, Vina said she considered Robin as her favorite leading man.
Vina and Robin starred in a number of movies during the 90s, including two installments of the hit romantic-comedy movie “Ang Utol Kong Hoodulum.”
“Spoiled kaya ako sa set! Kaya favorite ko siya," the actress quipped. “I appreciate that na napaka-down-to-earth siya and very loving.”
“Nung nag-meeting kami ni direk (‘Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo’ director Enzo Williams), ang unang-una niyang sinabi ang gusto niyang ka-partner ko, relax lang. ‘Yung hindi pa kayo nagsasalita, sumasabog na yung screen,’ sabi niya. Ah, sabi ko, walang iba d’yan kundi si Vina,” Robin said.
The actor said even his wife Mariel Rodriguez is a fan of the Robin-Vina love team.
