The Amazing Race Philippines Season 2 premieres on TV5
MANILA, Philippines - TV5 sets out to open an adrenaline-pumping fourth quarter as it brings back the world’s most awarded reality show, The Amazing Race (TAR), on Philippine TV. Millions of Filipino viewers can once again look forward to another of TV5’s groundbreaking and game-changing programs as TheAmazing Race Philippines (TARP) returns with a more explosive new season. Hosted by Derek Ramsay, the second season of TARP is one of the most-talked-about programs of 2014, owing much of its success to its first season last 2012. It airs weeknights starting tomorrow, Oct. 6, 7 p.m. before Wattpad Presents; Saturdays, 9 p.m. before Trenderas; and Sundays, 9 p.m. after Quiet Please.
The most ambitious reality show in the country, TARP searched the archipelago far and wide to find this season’s 11 teams who will try to outrun and outwit each other to be first to hit the mat at the Finish Line. Auditions were held last June at key cities in the country: Cebu, Davao, Pampanga and Metro Manila, where Filipinos from all walks of life rushed to take their chances on an adventure of a lifetime. Returning host Derek, who was present at the Cebu and Metro Manila auditions, became witness to how the country quickly got back to the TARP fever. He noted, “The Filipinos love the show… they are ready for the show. I can say we are one of the most excited nations to have TARP.”
Racing for glory, two house and lots from RCD Royal Homes, two KIA Sportage SUVs and a whopping cash prize of P2M courtesy of PLDT Home Telpad is a mix of personalities who are bound to gain the support and endear themselves to Filipino viewers. The 11 pairs are sexy besties RR Enriquez and Jeck Maierhofer, blonde sisters Tina and Avy Wells, chefs Eji Estillore and Roch Hernandez, dating couple Matt Edwards and Phoebe Walker, Juan Direction hunks Charlie Sutcliffe and Daniel Marsh, mag-amang AJ and Jody Saliba, nerds Vincent Yu and Ed Manguan, travel buddies Zarah Evangelista and Osang dela Rosa, Mr. Pogi bros JP Duray and Kelvin Engles, magkapatid Jet and Yna Cruz, and Pinay world champs Gretchen Albaniel and Luz McClitton.
