Jennylyn on mending fences with Luis: 'Only time will tell'

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Jennylyn Mercado said only time will tell if she can be friends with ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano.

Luis and Jennylyn broke up last year. A few months later, Luis reconciled with his ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin.

“Time lang ang makakapagsabi,” she said at the sidelines of the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014 on Friday, July 18.

In previous interviews, the GMA-7 actress refused to comment on the rekindled romance of Luis and Angel. 'I wish them well,” Jennylyn said.

During the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014, where she won Female Kontrabida of the Year, Jennylyn explained she is friends with her other exes. The Kapuso artist was previously in a relationship with actors Mark Herras, Patrick Garcia, and Dennis Trillo.

“Siguro ang pinakasecret lang is time. Panahon, panahon lang ang makakapagsabi kung kailan kayo magiging okay ulit,” she said.

“Masakit pag breakup talaga, masakit makipaghiwalay sa isang taong nakasama mo ng matagal o mahal mo,” Jennylyn further explained. “But siguro, time lang ang makakapagsabi kung kailan kayo ready na para sa isa't isa na maging friends.”

She is closest to Mark, Jennylyn said, although added they're just close friends. “Para akong kapatid yan, e. Pamilya na kami,” she said.

“Gusto namin maging role models sa lahat ng love teams, sa magkakaibigan, or sa mag-ex na solid pa rin talaga kahit anong pinagdaanan namin. Kahit anong mangyari, kami pa rin ang magkasama,” Jennylyn added.
