The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - GMA News TV’s original series Bayan Ko received the award for Outstanding Inspirational Drama at the 2014 Asia Rainbow TV Awards held last June 26 at the Venetian Hotel in Macau. Organized by the Hong Kong Television Association and the China Television Production Committee, the Asia Rainbow is now considered the Emmy Awards of Asia.

Bayan Ko was created by Nessa Valdellon, directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., written by Rodolfo Vera and executive produced by Eliza Zamora-Solis.

Bayan Ko was GMA News and Public Affairs’ first foray into social realist drama production. It was followed by the mini-series Titser and the historical drama Katipunan.
