Luis Manzano not yet decided on politics

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Luis Manzano is still undecided if he'll pursue politics.

Although the TV host said he would casually talk about  his desire to join politics with his family ans girlfriend Angel Locsin, Luis admits that he has yet to make a final decision.

“Hindi pa,” was Luis' quick reply in a recent interview when asked if he's decided to enter politics. “We talked about it, ang sabi ko nga maybe, maybe ha, there's no guarantee, maybe in two months pag-uusapan na namin. I'll get to talk to people, ask for advice, and me, figure out if it's time for me to serve.”

The Kapamilya  also added that  his parents have nothing to do with his interest in politics.

“They never influenced me, they never imposed na 'anak, tumakbo ka,' hindi,” he clarified. “[They say], 'kung anong gagawin mo make sure you're well equipped, if you want to run you have to study, you have to be there, you have to observe'

“Hindi puwedeng... ako I have no plans of using my last name or what, if I want to do something I have to learn, I have to study, kagaya ng ginawa ni mommy.”

Still  he admits that “when someone comes up to like sa mom ko or to my dad saying, 'dahil sa 'yo nabago buhay namin, dahil sa ginawa mong daan guminhawa ang buhay namin,' it's something na, wow, I can actually do that. It's not only [through] politics, but one of the venues is politics.”

The thought that really encourages Luis to pursue politics is his belief that “we're all paced in this Earth to serve. Whether we serve God, serve others, you do not live just for yourself.

“I think as simple as doing a nice gesture for someone. But some people take it in to a higher level like in livelihood and politics. Politics is something I want to explore.”

'The Voice Kids'

Meanwhile, besides his interest in politics, Luis will also be busy hosting “The Voice Kids” with Alex Gonzaga.

Hosting a show with kids is not something new for Luis as he hosted the “Star Circle Quest Kids edition,” “Pilipinas Got Talent”, which had kid contestants, and “Minute To Win It Kids edition.”

But what he admires with the kids in this talent search show is that “even if you see a fragile young body, grabe naman 'yong maturity nila. They know what they want, they know they want to pursue their dreams, you know what they are after and that's to win The Voice Kids of the Philippines.”

Though Luis encourages these kids to pursue their dreams, he reminds them to take their studies seriously.

"I was a working student, I was doing SCQ, MYX, I was studying.

“So kumbaga given this opportunity, hindi naman araw-araw may kumakatok na ganitong opportunity sa buhay mo, go for it. Go for your dreams, kung kinakailangan, sige take a break for a while. But don't forget your studies.”
