Toni Gonzaga emotional in ‘Aquino & Abunda Tonight’, says no to pre-marital sex

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Toni Gonzaga turned emotional in her interview with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino in “Aquino & Abunda Tonight.”

In the February 12 episode of the show, Kris noticed that Toni’s eyes seemed sad. The TV-host actress then admitted that she felt sad, especially after the premier night of her film “Starting Over Again” Tuesday night, February 11.

Then the song “Starting Over Again” started playing, which made Toni more emotional.

Toni then related that the first line of the song is her favorite.

“It made me realize so many things,” she explained. She then related these things, “[that] you have to value what you have, that sometimes...a lot of things happen to you and  that [they] happened for a reason. Tapos you have to learn to forgive yourself.”

No to pre-marital sex

Meanwhile, Toni and her boyfriend Paul Soriano have been together for more than six years and they’re both open to talks of settling down. Nothing has been made formal yet, however.

In that six years, Toni said that they’ve vowed not to engage in pre-marital sex.

“Sobra hirap, sobrang hirap panindigan,” Toni admitted candidly. “Honest lang talaga ako. Mahirap talaga panindigan. Hindi naman ako magsasabi ng napakabanal ko. “

So they both exert effort to avoid the “temptation” even if they go on trips together saying, “you do no put yourself in that kind of situation.”

Asked if she’s not worried if they’re not sexually compatible, the TV host-actress quickly replied, “Ako kasi ang paniniwala ko, tsaka kung pa’no rin ako pinalaki, I think that love should be greater than your lust for each other.

“Naniniwala ako that love should be unconditional. I think that love should be the strong foundation of the marriage, and I think that the trust and the commitment that you want to stay together in the marriage.”
