MANILA, Philippines – The action movie “10,000 Hours,” headed by its lead star Robin Padilla, dominated the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night, held at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City on Friday, December 27.

The film won most of the film festival’s major awards, including the Best Picture plum. It also received honors for Best Director (for Bb. Joyce Bernal), Best Original Story, and Best Screenplay. “10,000 Hours” also received most of the technical awards.

Robin was named the festival’s Best Actor while Pen Medina of “10,000 Hours” was named Best Supporting Actor.

During his acceptance speech of the film’s Best Picture award, Robin joked about the box-office performance of “10,000 Hours,” which was not among the four top-grossing films during the MMFF’s first day.

“Si Ms. Kris (Aquino, of “My Little Bossings”), bawi na. Ang “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” bawi na. “Pagpag,” sigurado na. Kami, hindi pa!” Robin said.

“My Little Bossings” managed to score two acting awards—Best Supporting Actress for Aiza Seguerra and Best Child Performer for Ryzza Mae Dizon.

“Love, thank you. Because of you I learned many things about acting. I dedicate this award to you, love you,” Aiza said.

Meanwhile, Maricel Soriano was named Best Actress for her performance in the Vice Ganda comedy “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy.”
