Aubrey is Miles ahead
MANILA, Philippines - She was that sexy, sultry actress that made eyes wide and hearts fall. She still is sexy and sultry, but now, Aubrey Miles is into something else. Things that are her priorities are the things that make her happy and her life complete.
Aubrey owns the A-MILES Pawnshop, now with two branches, and she gives her all in this business. She plans on putting up more A-MILES Pawnshops.
If she could only turn back time, she would not be as materialistic as she used to be.
“The only regret I have in life is spending too much money for things I don’t really need. I was once very materialistic but I’ve changed. I would have saved more,†says Aubrey.
Last seen in the reality show Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown, where she made it all the way to the end as one of the show’s Final Four, Aubrey admits she misses show business. Aubrey started when she was only 16 years old on GMA 7’s Beh Bote Nga and Best Friends. While she was studying at the University of Sto. Tomas’ Conservatory of Music, a film producer gave her an eight-film, two-year contract with Regal Films.
Aubrey starred in many movies, TV programs and commercials. From among all her showbiz projects, the most memorable for her is Regal Films’ 2003 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Gagamboy, where she played the hero’s love interest. She also fondly remembers Sanib, a horror film.
“Show business made me who I am today! I’m proud to be in this business,†shares Aubrey.
But her focus now is her family — partner for 10 years Troy Montero, kids Maurie and Hunter — and her business.
“I’ve been with Troy for 10 years and it still feels like just a year. We are very much in love still,†beams Aubrey who can be recalled to have defended herself fiercely when rumors spread about her having an affair while she was in a relationship with Troy.
“I needed to defend myself because it wasn’t true and I can’t just ignore it,†Aubrey looks back.
Behind the spotlight and the sexy image, Aubrey is a very nurturing person who takes good care of her family and loves to play with her children, watch cartoons or eat ice cream with them. Despite motherhood, Aubrey keeps her body fit and fab by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, working out and eating smart. She de-stresses by traveling or having a massage.
“I do detoxify bar for set meals for my regular diet and I work out with my trainer Bok Santos at Platinum Executive Gym,†Aubrey reveals.
Aubrey still has items in her bucket list and she plans to cross out a couple of them soon — doing more reality shows like Pinoy Big Brother and going to South Africa.
Next year, 2014, Aubrey will endorse the classic White Castle Whisky, proof that she still got that sexiness and sultriness.
But for now, Aubrey just enjoys “weekends! Weekends make me happy, I love family day!â€
Aubrey has come a long way, she is miles ahead in her career, personal and family life and business. But she keeps her feet on the ground, her eyes on her goals and her heart on the people she loves the most.
