Christian Bautista ‘choosy’ about upcoming projects

MANILA, Philippines - After working on the morning series “With A Smile,” Christian Bautista is still weighing his options.

He’s still on the reviewing part of the offer that GMA gives him.

“So we’re picking what the best role is — is it a hosting show or an acting show?” the balladeer said in an interview Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12.

“I don’t want to just get anything,” he explained. “So we still have to meet with GMA kung anong mangyari sa akin for the next year and it will be connected to the album, it will be connected… I want synergy right now. So tapos na ako sa just doing everything, so now it’s more on picking the battles.”

The album that Christian is referring to is the one he’s working on at the moment and is planned to be released early next year.

Meanwhile, as he mentioned weighing the offers given to him, the press got intrigued as to what are his considerations in accepting a project.

Christian, who is now 11 years in the industry, admits he’s now “choosy” over the roles and projects that he’s accepting, but for a good reason.

“Yung pagka-choosy kasi dapat makakatulong sa ‘yo,” he said. “ Kaya ka naman choosy whether sa girlfriend or work kasi nakakatulong sa ‘yo, napapaganda ang buhay mo. So in terms of work, mas ganun na rin ang approach ko ngayon."

He also adds that after working on different projects — may it be in concerts, TV programs, or theater plays — he was able to assess what he enjoys the most.

“Doon ako sa what works and ano pa gusto ko gawin. So parang mas ano yung kaya kong i-build sa sarili ko hanggang kaya pa,” Christian added
