A sexier, more confident Marian Rivera is Ginebra’s 2014 calendar girl

MANILA, Philippines – Is a sexier, more daring image part of Marian Rivera’s career plan for 2013?

The Kapuso star started the year by gracing the cover of FHM Philippines for the first time — and was even named the country’s sexiest by the said men’s magazine. Now, Marian ends 2013 on a similar note — as the 2014 calendar girl of Ginebra San Miguel.

But the actress, who first became the gin brand’s calendar girl in 2009, said this was all incidental.

“Mukhang hindi naman po namin pinaplano. Napakalaking oportunidad at napakaswerte ko na mabigyan ng pagkakataon na ganito, at nagkataon lang na ganito ang ginagawa ko,” Marian said in a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

She added, “Basta kaya kong gawin at naniniwala ako sa proyekto ay gagawin ko.”

So what’s different in Marian’s second time as a calendar girl? The Kapuso actress said she’s definitely more daring this time around. Marian said she’s now healthier and more body-conscious, so she’s more confident to pose for the calendar layout in a two-piece.

The shot was done on location in Batangas, Boracay, and Palawan.

With all the blessings she has received this year, is there anything more Marian is asking for?

“Sa tuwing ini-interview ako, palaging tinatanong sa akin kung ano pa ba ang gusto ko. Pero may mga pagkakataon sa buhay ng tao na hind kailangan humiling. May mga pagkakataon na kailangan mo lang tumahimik, magdasal, at magpasalamat sa mga blessings na dumarating sa iyo.”

 â€œSa pagkakataon na ito, mas gusto ko na mag-thank you sa lahat ng blessings dahil ang saya-saya ko talaga.”

When does Marian feel the sexiest? “Kapag bagong gising ako,” she said.

The Kapuso star added, “Kasi kapag bagong gising ang isang tao, doon mo makikita ang totoong siya. Yung purity, kung anong klaseng tao ito.”
