Youth idols hailed at 'Choice Ko Yum' awards night

MANILA, Philippines - The youth was given the chance to speak up and choose who they think best represents their passions in the first ever Jollibee Choice Ko Yum awards.

From September 18 to October 24, Jollibee, in partnership with music channel MYX, let the youth vote for the person who they think will best represent them in different categories.

The awards night was held Monday night, Nov. 4, at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan.

The total votes of 6,258 hailed the following people, groups and personalities as their “choice” for each category.

For the “Local Entertainment,” there are nine sub-categories.

One of the winners that night is the main host, Julia Barretto, who was awarded as the “Local Choice Female Hearthrob,” while the “Local Choice Male Heartthrob" was given to Enrique Gil.

While one of the presenters that night, Mikey Bustos, was given the “Choice Internet Sensation” award, which he says he dedicates to “my family in Canada who I miss so much!”

The “It’s Showtime” host and actress Anne Curtis was chosen by the youth as the “Local Choice Style Icon.”

Though she doesn’t have the most number of followers in the Twitter world, Bianca Gonzales got the “Local Choice Social Media Celebrity” award.

While for the music scene, Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo got the full support of the popsters as she bagged the “Local Choice Performer” award.

While it was a double hit for Yeng Constantino’s song “Chinito” as it won the “Local Choice Music Video” and “Local Choice Song of the Year.”

Callalily was chosen as the “Local Choice Band,” while Chico and Delamar got the “Local Choice DJ” award.
