Keywords and hashtags such as Janet Napoles and Camp Crame became trending topics on Twitter Philippines on Thursday, August 29, during the Malacañang’s press briefing on Napoles’ surrender.
The phrase “At 9:37,†the reported time Napoles surrendered to Aquino, and Heritage Park, where Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda picked up Napoles, also became trending topics.
Netizens immediately shared their comments and conspiracy theories on why Napoles surrendered, less than a day after it was reported that the Aquino is offering a P10-million reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the alleged pork barrel scam mastermind.
