Salimbangon said that his office is coordinating with the Department of Tourism for the creation of a tourism master plan for the entire district, with emphasis on developing 16 islets in the area.
He said that these untapped 16 islets within the district are the most deprived areas in terms of tourism promotion.
As soon as DOTC will finish the master plan within the first quarter of this year, Salimbangon said that works for the implementation of the program will be started immediately.
The project is estimated to cost at least P30 million.
This budget will be taken from the DOT, DOTC and Cebu Provincial Government, part of this will also be sourced from the Priority Development Assistance Fund of Salimbangon’s office. — Gregg M. Rubio/BRP
