Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang Marks the TV return of the hit loveteam of Dingdong and Marian

True to its word of providing first-class programs, GMA Network launches this February its first primetime offering in 2009 with the newest action-suspense-drama on television - Carlo J. Caparas’s Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang.

Beginning February 2, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang will showcase the much-awaited return of the phenomenal loveteam of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera on television. The hottest couple playing the lead characters Homer (Dingdong Dantes) and Proserfina (Marian Rivera).

Joining the country’s hottest loveteam are Angelu de Leon as Helene, Homer’s over-ambitious girlfriend; Paolo Contis as Rado, a ruthless man in love with Proserfina; Ms. Carmi Martin as Hera, Homer’s domineering, snooty and arrogant mother; Eugene Domingo as Madel, Homer’s maid; Francine Prieto as Sheila, Rado’s girlfriend who hates Proserfina; and Sherilyn Reyes as Aunt Galatea, Homer’s religious and loving aunt.

Completing the cast are Lovi Poe as Athena, Aristotle’s love interest; Mart Escudero as Ulysses, Proserfina’s brother; Jackie Rice as Sandra, Homer’s outcast sister; Prince Stefan as Aristotle, Homer’s younger brother who is into priesthood; Alyssa Alano as Citas, the new maid in Homer’s house; Carlene Aguilar as Clarisse, Helene’s bestfriend; Paolo Paraiso as Mike, Homer’s bestfriend; Kevin Santos as Jason, Aristotle’s bestfriend and Boom Labrusca as Greg, Helene’s other boyfriend.

Originally created for comics in 1974 by the 2008 Sagisag Balagtas awardee and comics genius Carlo J. Caparas, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang was later adapted as a movie in 1981 starring Eddie Rodriguez and Vivian Velez.

The newest primetime series for 2009 is under the helm of Ms. Joyce Bernal, the lady director behind the successful GMA Telebabad shows Marimar and Dyesebel, which also topbilled Dingdong and Marian.

Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang is about family, destiny, secrets, relationships and deception. The new series shows that love is the most powerful force on earth. It can push a person to give up everything just to be with one he/she loves.

The new action-suspense-drama series tells the story of the intertwined love and lives of Homer and Proserfina and how fate leads them to each other’s world. Homer is a young, nerdy but handsome and wealthy businessman who lives in a systematic, monotonous and boring life.

For Homer, excitement only exists in the movies and comic books. He likes to play the saxophone because that is the only instrument his mother permits him to use. He is an obedient son who embraces whatever his mother commands even if it is against his will. He is also a dutiful boyfriend who believes that having a girlfriend is necessary to show people that he is happy.

But his life makes a sudden turn when he wakes up one morning and finds a mysterious woman sleeping beside him – Proserfina. Proserfina is a woman with stunning beauty. She is a streetsmart, feisty and down-to-earth. Proserfina’s beauty as well as her unconventional and free-spirited ways immediately captures Homer.

Proserfina’s presence has changed the young businessman’s dull existence. And just when Homer is willing to share his life to her, the mysterious woman suddenly disappears in an instant just like how she came to his life.

A man in love, Homer decides to find Proserfina. Will Homer leave behind the people in his dull and boring world in search for Proserfina?
