Juday in rousing movie comeback

It is heartening to note that Judy Ann Santos is making a movie comeback via the Cinemalaya entry “Kusina.” The project was first offered to her two years ago and she readily agreed to do it because of its good story and script. What makes the movie different is that the story happens in just one place in the house – the kitchen.

She is also portraying a very intense role. Aside from the movie “Sabel,” for which Juday won two best actress awards (Urian and Golden Screen Awards), the actress says she has never played a role as intense as the one she is doing in “Kusina.”

The role was very well written, she says. “My character here can suffer a cardiac arrest because of the things that she is going through in the story,” said Juday when we visited her on the set of “Kusina.”

She rues the fact that she didn’t have the time to do the film the first time it was offered to her. She was busy with TV hosting jobs then. After that, she got pregnant with her second child Luna. But she is thankful to her two directors who waited until she is ready physically for the role. She admitted she is still fat but decided to give it a go since her directors have a deadline to meet for Cinemalaya’s August playdate.

What does she think her fans will say when they watch the movie? “Ay mataba siya. Bakit niya ito ginawa?,” Juday said with a laugh. “But I feel my physical appearance suited the role just fine. So I don’t care if I am fat. I am sure the first reaction of the audience once they see the movie is mataba ako. But I don’t mind.”

Juday is thankful to her husband Ryan Agoncillo who encouraged her to act in movies again. She enjoyed herself so much with TV hosting that she momentarily set aside doing films. She also enjoyed being a mom that she told herself that if ever she will accept a movie offer, it should be worth leaving her kids at home.

With “Kusina,” Juday feels it is worth making a movie comeback. We had the chance to watch her breakdown scene in the movie and we tell you, Juday gave a rousing performance. Mrs. Agoncillo is a sure contender for the Cinemalaya best actress trophy.

Alden Richards has been driving a new Jaguar – his gift to himself – for three months now. So when he attended the blessing of the new abode of Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna, he requested the priest to bless his new car as well.

If there’s one person who is very diligent with his work, Alden is one of them. He works very hard and makes it a point to attend to all his commitments no matter how tired he is. He ought to reward himself for working hard and loving his work. He also takes care of his earnings well and invests them wisely. He knows that a career in showbiz is not forever. He put up a restaurant in Tagaytay and is also thinking of investing his showbiz earnings in other businesses.

At this point, what Alden is probably intently praying for is the success of the movie “Imagine You & Me,” where he is paired with Maine Mendoza. This is the launching movie of the AlDub tandem.

The AlDub fans are eagerly waiting for the movie’s opening on July 13. The film was shot on location in Como, Italy, for it was the wish of APT Entertainment’s big boss Mr. Antonio Tuviera to have a movie shot in that beautiful place.

Now we know why the relationship between a character actress and a commercial model cum actor suddenly turned sour.

A few months back, the character actress was so giddy in talking about her “special relationship” with the commercial model. They often worked together in shows and this brought them closer to each other. If we were to base it in her own words, it seems the character actress fell and is so much in love with the good looking commercial model cum actor although they refused to put a label to their “special relationship.”

But after all those talks of a special relationship, the commercial actor distanced himself from the character actress. He is no longer in the radar of the character actress who now refuses to talk about him unless she is asked. To be fair to the character actress, she doesn’t talk ill of the commercial model but it seems that she is hiding the pain in her innermost recesses.

As it turned out, the commercial model is a closet gay. And he has a boyfriend who is a budding actor as well. We don’t know how the character actress discovered the painful truth. So she just let the commercial model drift away. Now, the actress is trying to heal a broken heart after she was taken for a ride by the commercial model.
