JaDine gears up for their World Tour

James Reid and Nadine Lustre, contrary to the speculation of many people, are not yet an item. There is no romance (yet?) involved between the two popular stars. Yet they did go out on Valentine’s Day and would have wanted to have dinner together in a fancy restaurant in Rockwell Makati. Unfortunately, all dining establishments were full and since they didn’t have a reservation, they failed to get a table. So they just decided to go shopping.

Their top-rating series “On The Wings of Love” ends next Friday (February 26) and while they would miss their co-stars, JaDine (as they are collectively called) are very thankful for the friendships they made.

“We are like family on the set,” said James and Nadine. They would also like to express appreciation to their fans who supported the show since it started airing last August. For sure their fans are as excited as OTWOL ends and they are hoping for a happy ending for Clark and Leah, the characters that JaDine play in the series directed by Antoinette Jadaone and Jojo Saguin.

The two are also preparing for their concert titled “JaDine In Love” to be held tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum. The producers are selling SRO tickets to accommodate the fans who wish to watch the concert. When it was first announced that JaDine was having a concert, the tickets were immediately sold out in one day.

Due to the clamor of JaDine fans overseas, James and Nadine will even hold a JaDine Love World Tour presented by TFC in March. They will visit Doha (March 18), Dubai (March 19), London (March 26) and Milan (March 27).

If they have the time, JaDine said they will go on side trips to Paris and Rome, a dream destination for both of them, especially Nadine.

Both of them are overwhelmed with their current career success. James said their success seems surreal while Nadine expressed hope they will be able to handle well the fame they are enjoying now.

Before they start on a new teleserye for Dreamscape Entertainment Television, which produced “On The Wings of Love,” the Viva talents will also do a new movie.

With the backlash that Congressman Manny Pacquiao is getting over his comment regarding same-sex marriage, it seems the Pambansang Kamao’s dream of getting a Senate seat is in peril. The LGBT community has called for a boycott of Pacquaio and is asking that he be denied a slot in the hallowed halls of the Senate. No vote for Pacquiao.

The world-famous boxer earned flak not only from the LGBT community, but also from showbiz personalities like Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Leah Salonga and Aiza Seguerra, among others. He is also being bashed on social media and his followers on Instagram is now down to 2.9 million.

Pacquiao has since issued an apology. “I am sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. God bless,” he posted on his Twitter account the day after he made his derogatory remarks. He clarified that he is not condemning the LGBT, but their sexual act.

However, the damage has been done as far the LGBT community is concerned. The LGBT community initiated a campaign to compel the companies that Pacquaio endorses, one of them is Nike which is LGBT friendly, to drop the boxer as endorser. And true enough, the shoe brand dropped Pacquaio after his disparaging comments towards gays. This is not the first time that Nike dropped Pacquaio. They also did it in 2012 when the boxer issued a remark against the LGBT community.

Even Bob Arum agrees with Nike’s decision to drop Pacquiao. “Manny’s remarks were offensive to many people, particularly those in the gay and lesbian community. And Manny shouldn’t have said what he said and Nike acted appropriately.”

Still in connection with the Pacquaio controversy, “Dolce Amore” cast member Matteo Guidicelli was asked about his opinion on same-sex marriage during the premiere of his action movie “Tupang Ligaw” last Tuesday.

“Wow! It is really up to the person, you know. The world is evolving. It is now 2016. Everything is evolving. We don’t look like how we look liked 50 years ago. The world is evolving. It is all about love and respect. It is all about love and equality,” the Fil-Italian actor said.

What can he say about Pacquiao’s comments? “I didn’t have the chance to watch it. Let me watch it first. But love is universal. Love is the most important thing in life. That is what connects us together,” said Matteo who is very happy to have been given the opportunity by BG Productions to do an action flick.

“This is the first time for me to do an action film and it’s a different experience. This is fun for me. We had a long training for it, around six months. I was fighting with open hands and gun fighting and I hope the audience appreciates it. I would like to thank BG Productions for fulfilling my dream.”

Matteo hopes to do more action films in the future. For now, he is busy taping for his new ABS-CBN series “Dolce Amore.” He will also start his second album and will begin the new season of “Single Single” for the Cinema One Originals channel. (FREEMAN)
