DepEd re-opens application for Senior HS voucher program
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) re-opened application for Senior High School (SHS) voucher program until May 16.
The government-funded scholarships are available for incoming SHS students who will attend private universities and colleges, local and state universities and technical vocational institutions offering SHS starting school year 2016 to 2017.
The SHS voucher program is meant to enable more Grade 10 completers to avail of discounts on the cost of tuition and other school fees for SHS, according to DepEd.

The SHS voucher program offers different voucher values for Grade 10 completers, with those coming from public junior high school getting a 100-percent voucher value. It also offers Education Service Contracting (ESC) grantees and non-ESC grantees from private junior high school an 80-percent voucher value. Enrollees of state and local universities will receive a 50-percent voucher value.
Grade 10 completers from public schools and Grade 10 completers who are ESC grantees from private schools are automatically qualified and not need apply for the SHS voucher program.
Applications from Grade 10 completers who are not ESC grantees from private junior high school are subject to review and approval.
All applications must strictly be done online by accessing Private Education Assistance Committee's Online Voucher Application Portal, deadline is non-extendable.
Results of the online application for the SHS voucher program will be released by May 20, 2016.
