MANILA, Philippines – A Manila policeman was wounded while a vendor was killed when an unidentified assailant shot them in Quezon City Thursday night.

Police Officer 1 Ronilo Romero, 29, and Johnny Naigan, 35, were shot as they were reportedly drinking at Naigan’s house on Lawin street in Barangay Commonwealth at around 9:30 p.m.

Probers said the two victims were drinking with their friends when a masked man approached their group.

Naigan died at the scene after he was shot several times by the assailant.

Romero, currently detailed at the District Public Safety Battalion of the Manila Police District, tried to grab the gun from the assailant but he was shot in the back twice.
