Norkis works to popularize multicab in Luzon

Norberto Quisumbing Jr., chairman of the Norkis Group, is not giving up on his dream of making the locally-made multicab a popular means of transportation in Luzon.
The multicab is a four-wheeled, mini-cab vehicle developed locally by the Norkis Group. It uses modified Suzuki and Daihatsu engines and parts to give rise to a newly-styled four wheeler for passengers and personal use.
It is designed smaller than most utility vehicles, but is larger than tricycles.
The multicab has been a hit in Cebu where it is ideal for Cebus narrow streets.
But while the multicab is popular in the Visayas and Mindanao, it has not been as successful in Luzon.
Still clinging to its dream of popularizing the multicab in Luzon, Norkis forged recently an agreement with the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) which provides that the Norkis Group would supply various transport cooperatives with the multicab.
Under the agreement with the DOTC, the Norkis Group would supply various transport cooperatives throughout the Philippines with the multicab under the Vehicle Acquisition Program of the Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC).
The cooperatives to be supplied by the Norkis Group are under the auspices of the Pambansang Kalipunan ng mga Kooperatibang Pangsasakyan (PKKP) headed by Robert Noriega.
