Paolo Vinluan at Finale Art File
Paolo Vinluan explores the superficial masks we present to the public and the tenuous human relations that charge civilized society in “Social Graces by Default,” which opens on Dec. 11 at Finale Art File, Warehouse 17, La Fuerza Compound, 2241 Pasong Tamo, Makati City.
Throwing an oblique take on what we consider vital in our social pursuits, the artist crowds his canvas with animal figures, Pop-Art references and surreal strokes, finished off with advertising-like typography that delivers irony with a punch. Dark with satire and crouching in a critical stance, the works disrupt our notion of what it means to function and perform in the world at large.
